From our thousands of polyjacking projects, we want to share a case study of a successful polyjacking project from start to finish, including how we started and finished the concrete repair job. Today we’ll discuss a preschool transformation project we completed in 2022, including details about the polyjacking project from start to finish.

Step 1: Initial Assessment

Before we started polyjacking, we had an initial assessment with the preschool. They expressed concern about how the concrete sidewalk that led to the playground was unlevel and wanted to repair it to ensure the students were safe and trip hazards were taken care of.

We provided a free initial assessment which included measuring the slope of the concrete. This helped us determine how much polyurethane foam was needed to raise the concrete and provide a perfectly level sidewalk. Sometimes our levelers show an alarming slope that creates a major trip hazard while others show a slight slope that will worsen with time and everchanging soil conditions.

In this case, the slope was creating a trip hazard, and for the safety of the students, it needed repairing immediately. Our initial assessment included an analysis of the unlevel concrete, our recommendations for concrete repair, and a free complimentary quote. Once the preschool accepted the quote we quickly scheduled the polyjacking project.

Step 2: Create the Injection Sites

The next step in our polyjacking process to repair the preschool sidewalk that led to the playground was to create the injection sites. Unlike other concrete leveling methods like mudjacking, our team drills discreet, dime-sized holes barely noticeable to create polyurethane injection sites.

These tiny holes allow us to inject our polyurethane foam directly underneath the unlevel concrete to ensure it’s fully lifted under the entire length of the sidewalk. We were as quiet and discreet as possible, understanding that the sidewalk needed repair quickly so the children could access the playground timely and safely.

Step 3: Polyurethane Injection

Next is the fun part – our polyurethane injection! Once the injection sites are drilled, we can inject the polyurethane foam under the damaged concrete. We correctly calculated the amount of polyurethane foam needed to lift and level the concrete sidewalk to ensure there were no gaps and cracks, ensuring it was level and safe for the children.

The science behind polyurethane foam is fascinating; once injected it expands to level the concrete and is hydrophobic, acting as a barrier against water. It’s extremely lightweight, never hurting the soil surrounding the concrete. The polyurethane foam expanded and hardened in minutes for the children to use quickly!

Step 4: Clean Up & Patching the Injection Sites

Once the preschool sidewalk was level and the injection was complete, we cleaned up the sidewalk which included patching the discreet injection sites. This is the last step in our polyjacking process to ensure the concrete looks as good as new!

Why Polyjacking vs. Mudjacking?

Most clients have multiple quotes, including one for mudjacking before they accept and sign our estimates. We completely understand the importance of getting various opinions and quotes. However, the choice is clear when choosing the best concrete repair and leveling method: polyjacking is the only permanent solution, much better than mudjacking.

Though many consider mudjacking because of its initial lower price tag, it’s a temporary solution to many problems. For one, it might seem more affordable, but it’s something that you’ll need to repeat as it doesn’t fortify the soil; it can burden the soil underneath the concrete. Next, it’s not environmentally friendly like polyjacking. Mudjacking doesn’t harden instantly, allowing chemicals to seep into the soil. Polyjacking has many environmental benefits including helping to prevent soil erosion.

Trust Pro Polyjacking to Repair Your Unlevel & Cracked Concrete

For concrete repair, consider polyjacking from Pro Polyjacking for your residential, commercial, or municipal project. Our polyjacking process stabilizes the soil and, as a result, lifts concrete to fix cracks and level the patio, driveway, sidewalk, or foundation. Your concrete will be permanently repaired, never again cracking from settling soil and never needing repeating.

Our process is simple, starting with a free assessment and complimentary quote for our concrete leveling service. We’ll discuss your concerns and issues and a solution and quote for our polyjacking service. Once you accept and we get you on the schedule, we’ll arrive timely and professionally. We’ll create the injection site by drilling tiny holes into the concrete and injecting our polyurethane foam under the damaged concrete. The result is lifted concrete without any gaps and stabilized soil underneath. We also patch up our injection sights so they’re even less noticeable.

Foundation cracks, uneven driveways, spalling sidewalks, and other damages are unsightly, especially if they’re on a commercial building you own or your home.
