- What’s your warranty — in writing, and what voids it? The single fastest bid-quality test. “Good answer”: specific years, transferable or not, exclusions on paper before you sign.
- How big are the injection holes, and how are they patched? You’ll look at the patches for the life of the slab. Get the size in inches, not adjectives.
- How soon can I use the slab? Anything from minutes to three days is possible depending on material. Make them commit so you can plan.
- How much does your material weigh per cubic foot? The sleeper question. The soil under your slab already failed once — ask how much load the fix adds to it.

- Why did my concrete sink, and does your fix address it? If nobody mentions your downspouts, grading, or voids, they’re treating the symptom and scheduling the sequel.
- Are you licensed and insured — can I see certificates? Boring, essential. A pump against the underside of a slab is not the place for an uninsured crew.
- Can you show me jobs like mine, in my city? Local proof beats a national gallery. Settling behaves differently across soil and subdivision age.
- If it settles again, what does the redo cost me? The honest companies have a clear answer. The evasive ones are telling you something too.
- What’s my total cost over ten years? Ask each bidder to do this math with you: initial price, expected life, redo price. Cheapest-today and cheapest-overall are often different bids.
